Gig Guide

Thursday 16 December 2010

Catch the Thesis Pop Store at Loxion Live and all Thesis Tshirts will be retailing for R100.

Mmino, South African –Norwegian music cooperation, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, has been working at promoting indigenous SA live music while trying to forge the re-kindling of a live circuit for music in SA under the banner of ‘Mmino Live’. The NAC has partnered with Mmino in this initiative and after the successful Back to eKasi tour with Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Kristin Asbjørnsen, we now introduce the Loxion Live music festival.

Loxion Live, co-produced by Street Pop Industry, will take place in Mofolo Park, Soweto on 16 December 2010 from 13h to 21h00. Loxion Live brings you a stellar line-up of eight South African bands each representing a distinct SA music genre.

brother... FUlly-fashioned TG

today was our Term Garment presentation for brother®/fully fashioned class...
here is what i whipped up.

originally part of my fall/capillaris collection.
its a PROTOTYPE...so still in evolution, many changes to be made
its the first time I work with this technique of creating shaped-cutouts with float stitches... greatly inspired by BORA OKSUN/MARK FAST

this one is made out of 100% sheplands wool yarn.
I was hoping to have it shrink A LOT, having enough time to add sleeves, dye the garment and add some texture by weaving novelty slub yarn...
this is it for today- more in the future...
my favorite part- and the only one that was successful= the neckline

its a wrap: whimsicalities!

TODAY was my last fashion art/portfolio class EVER!
woot for that!
here is my "last" collection: spring---> "whimsicalities"

honestly, this is far from anything i would ever present to someone as a defining work, and this is not the development process I believe in. however, FIT wants us all to be robots and be sheep of the same herd- so I try- to survive, make them happy, while being somewhat true to myself...
THERE ARE BIGGER/BETTER things out there!CANT WAIT!

well... the last fashion ART class in my FIT life... i love art... maybe not fashion art
