PAPER AS A SCIENCE AND EDUCATION AS A SYSTEM


CHAPTER I

1.1. Background
Science is a series of rational human activity and cognitive with various
method in the form of various procedures and steps to produce a collection of
systematic knowledge about symptoms and faulty world community to
reach the truth, gain understanding, to explain or do
implementation.
Education is a process of transferring knowledge from teachers to students.
Science education is closely related to the object. Science generally transferred
science is to give learners knowledge with participants' expectations
students are able to learn all sorts of natural conditions, social and culture in
world. For example, in formal education or schools, the main object in the educational process
is science.
Why it's called science education? Because science is main object of
education. Without science, all things can not go well. For example, children
trained since childhood by his parents when he ate so using the right hand, that
called education and eating with the right hand that is called science
because if you use your left hand is not polite. Another example of applying
work, before the person received a permanent employee he should be trained.
This is called training and education material made during
training that is called science.

1.2. PROBLEM
In this paper we take a number of issues, among others:
1. What is a science?
2. Why education as a science?
3. What are the main tasks of education?
4. What is the purpose of the system?
5. Why education as a system?
6. What components are in the education system.?

2.1. EDUCATION AS A SCIENCE
A. Definition of Science
The term science is a translation of the English language comes from the Science and
Scientia is derived from the Latin word meaning Scire know and learn, then
science can mean an attempt to know or learn something that is empirically
and through a certain way.
According to James Conant, science is a series of concepts and conceptual schemes
relate to each other, which grows as well as observations and experimental results
useful for the observed and experimented further.
Meanwhile, according to The Liang Gie, science contain three things: knowledge,
activities and methods. Science according to Henry W. Hophnstone Jr.. in his book
"What is Philosophy?" Is a systematic collection of knowledge
collected by an intermediary scientific method.
According to Indonesian Dictionary General (Kubi), science is a knowledge or
good intelligence about everything that goes in the type of psychotherapy and related
the state of nature, social, and so on. While the science of meaning process,
meant that knowledge is relative.
Thus, it can be concluded that science was a series of human ektivitas
rational and cognitive methods in the form of various procedures and steps
resulting in a set of systematic knowledge about the symptoms
faulty world and society to reach the truth, gain understanding,
explain or make application
